Hi there, we are Rhys & Alicia - the proud owners and operators of North East Garage Doors.
ALICIA
I grew up with my many siblings in Hurstbridge and then St. Andrews in our family home that my parents owned for nearly 30 years.
I went to primary school in Doreen and St. Andrews, high school in Eltham and Uni in Bundoora.
Growing up I worked part time serving customers at Amcal Pharmacy in Diamond Creek and making coffees at Smiths Gully General Store. I even had a short stint waitressing at Panton Hill Pub. Eventually, I traded all of that in to care for some lovely senior citizens at a retirement village in South Morang whilst I made my way through Uni.
A true local northeast gal!
After finishing Uni and working as a nurse for a couple of years, I travelled, met Rhys and lived and worked in the UK. Fast forward a decade or so to 2020 and Rhys and I were back in Melbourne buying our first home in Diamond Creek 🏠
Today you can find me helping Rhys with the operations side of North East Garage Doors, working part time as a Registered Nurse and in my most treasured role - mum to our two beautiful boys, Noah and Cove.

I grew up slightly less locally in the East Midlands of England — which explains where my strong accent comes from.
Whilst I’ll never agree to call football “soccer” or swap my tea for coffee, Diamond Creek has been home for the past five years, and I’ve grown to love Melbourne’s northeast (almost as much as Alicia 😆).
Work wise I have over two decades of experience in the trade industry across England and Australia.
My recognised expertise as a specialist garage door tradesman has helped establish North East Garage Doors as a trusted name within the industry, known for reliability, honesty and excellence.
North East Garage Doors has given me the opportunity to offer my skills directly to our community and the flexibility to be closer to home so that I can spend more time with my young family. We are so grateful for all of the support we continue to receive from our community.

Every good tradie needs a sidekick, and for Rhys, that’s Em — Alicia’s sister and our resident hands‑on helper. She’s practical, quick to learn, and always ready to jump in wherever she’s needed, ensuring every project she assists with runs smoother, faster and safer.
A familiar face around Melbourne’s northeast, Em loves a pub, loves a catchup and is always up for a chat. We love that she brings this same easy-going energy to every project she works on.
When she’s not on site with Rhys, you’ll find her chasing her two energetic kiddos around one of Nillumbik’s many playgrounds, visiting her partner’s family in Geelong or at home on their bush block in Cottles Bridge.
If you see her around, you’ll get the same honest, friendly service we pride ourselves on — delivered with a smile and probably a bit of banter.
